Behind Every Exhibition Submission, There Is a Story
People often see only the final moment —
the exhibition announcement, the selected artwork, the certificate, the recognition.
But behind every exhibition submission, there is a much deeper story.
There are hours of reflection.
Moments of doubt.
Questions no one sees.
Which artworks truly belong together?
Which emotions deserve to be shared?
What part of yourself are you ready to reveal through your work?
As an artist, every open call becomes more than an application.
It becomes a moment of self-discovery.
This week, I am preparing a submission for the international open call by Visual Art Journal — an opportunity dedicated to contemporary artists exploring the theme of Fire.
For me, Fire is not destruction.
Fire is transformation.
It is awakening.
It is the invisible force that pushes life forward.
This idea is deeply connected to my ongoing artistic exploration of the Five Elements — Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Spirit — emotional and energetic states that shape both nature and human existence.
The paintings I selected are not literal representations of fire itself.
They are emotional landscapes of becoming.
Through layered textures, abstraction and intuitive movement, I explore the moment when something begins to change — when darkness slowly becomes clarity and emotion transforms into energy.
Every artist knows that applying for exhibitions means accepting uncertainty.
Sometimes you are selected.
Sometimes you are not.
But the creative journey continues regardless of the outcome.
Because art is not built only through recognition.
It is built through persistence, courage and the willingness to continue sharing your inner world.
And perhaps this is the true meaning of Fire —
the quiet power to begin again.
